MAC, an abbreviation for Media Access Control address, is a unique characteristic that identifies the registration number of the device manufacturer and is used when the device has to be utilized in network environments.
Each MAG device is assigned a unique MAC address that must be registered with the IPTV provider’s servers. The majority of IPTV providers need your MAC address in order to associate it with an M3u subscription. That is why you may be required to provide your MAG Box’s MAC address to your provider.
Where to find the MAC address
To determine the MAC address of your MAG box, just flip it over and look on the rear of the device for the MAC address. Typically, the Mac address begins with 00:1A:79, and the remaining numbers and characters are unique to each box.
Alternatively, you may locate the MAC address of your device in its settings.
Configure > Profiles > Click your profile. Or, if you have newly installed, there must be a New Profile by default > STB Configuration > MAC-address
Concluding Thoughts
MAGs are the most familiar boxes in IPTV industries but finding MAC address for newbies is a bit confusion. We think not that hard for techies and things are organised nicely.
